My time in Japan was the best of my life and I would suggest leaving for a study abroad experience to anyone who is passionate about learning a new language, especially when it concerns a language as Japanese. I signed up for the Japanese language school experience after browsing every possible forum on the internet and after having read only positive reviews from people who did. Luckily my university offered an exchange programme where I signed up for but if you're interested in studying at the Kansai Gaidai University, where I went, you can also apply online. The experience at the Kansai Gaidai University was the perfect place to add to my Asian Studies degree and the whole stay in Japan improved not only my linguistic Japanese skills but gave me the opportunity to make friends and experience the Japanese culture while being there. After arriving, it was the beginning of August when I left for Japan, at Kansai Airport after a long flight from Lyon, I was so enthusiastic that I started to take pictures of every single feature. It all seemed such a different reality, but in a good, innovative and postive way. I couldn't wait to start my Japan adventure! The Japanese language school experience at Kansai Gaidai University was also amazing. The university is really modern with all kinds of facilities like a student lounge where the exchange students could meet up and chat with their Japanese speaking partners. Before the study part took off we had a nice ceremony with a formal presentation of the programme and some real sushi afterwards! My Japanese speaking partner was such a nice girl and we actually got good friends and are still in contact with eachother. It was a great experience and she helped me find my way through Harikata City which can be complex as the traffic drives on the left and biking in Europe can be less intens:) The lessons where great and I learned so much that my Japanese language skill improved quickly. In the weekends I often went with friends to the Harikata City Mall to get an icecream of to go and see a movie, try that as a great linguistic exercise! Did you enjoy Japanese language school experience and have you been on a holiday in Hirakata, Japan?
