Gibraltar is a beautiful place and from Spain a perfect weekend getaway destination. Eventhough Gibraltar borders with the southern tip of Spain the country is considered overseas British territory and once you're on the peninsula you'll notice the north european influences. Gibraltar is known for the Rock of Gibraltar which has become some sort of national symbol and one of the peninsula's major draw cards, also because of the cute Rock of Gibraltar monkeys which made this beautiful place overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar their home. These Barbary Macaques as they are called are the only group of wild monkeys in Europe and help attract many curious tourists to the Rock of Gibraltar who like ourselves seem to have more eye for these funny creatures than for anything else. If you want to visit the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens it's possibile to enjoy a ride on the Gibraltar Cable Car which runs from outside the gardens to the top of The Rock with some amazing panorama's of the bay. Another beautiful place to visit on Gibraltar would be Europa Point, located at the end of the Rock of Gibraltar, with its lighthouse, rocky cliffs and serene white Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque. Gibraltar's Roman Catholic church can also be found at Europa Point. Did you enjoy Rock of Gibraltar monkeys and have you been on a holiday in Gibraltar, Gibraltar?
