Less than 5 minutes to the beach Martineau House takes its name from Harriet Martineau, one of the great social reformers of the 19th century and an important local figure. Harriet lived in the house for almost seven years during the 1840s and wrote many of her most important works here. All our rooms are ensuite and well equipped. Start the day with choices from our comprehensive breakfast menu, served in our open plan kitchen overlooking the secret garden and featuring the best of traditional local produce lovingly prepared. Vegetarian and vegan alternatives can be prepared on request. There is free wifi and on street parking for guests.
