Particularly from November to February every year a famous 50 meter wide natural open-air bath A Hermit Bath makes an appearance as one of the key features in Kawayu Onsen area. A world heritage Kumano -Hongu-Taisha and Kumano Kodo are in walking distance Fujiya is ideally located to view those sites by walk and full relaxation afterwards. Meals will be served in the room for up to 3 persons in a group and served in a private room for 4 persons or more. Open air bath and indoor bath both separated by male and female situated in our complex are available 24 hours a day.

It is a diverse cultural landscape that extends over the entire Kii Peninsula and is a spiritual place of self-discovery purification and healing. History For over 1000 years people from all levels ol society including retired emperors and aristocrats have made the arduous pilgrimage to Kumano. These pilgrims used a network of routes now called the Kumano Kodo which stretches across the mountainous Kii Peninsula. The walk itself was an integral part of the pilgrimage process as they undertook rigorous religious rites of worship and purification. Walking the ancient Kumano Kodo is a fantastic way to experience the unique cultural landscape of Kumano s spiritual countryside.
