Hotel Description
The 4 star Hotel Degli Orafi dates back to the 13th century. It was built as an Augustinian convent and the interior of the building still has traces of an antique medieval tower that was destroyed by Ghibellini in the year 1260. The hotel is situated in the heart of Florence facing the Ponte Vecchio and next to the Uffizi Gallery. Within walking distance are many shops and museums. The hotel is well-known for its beautiful rooms and magnificent views looking out over Ponte Vecchio. The hotel has 42 rooms; all of which are carefully restored with private facilities. They are furnished in a Florentine style and have beautiful marble bathrooms. All rooms are equipped with a mini bar; air-con; heating; Sat TV; safe; telephone; high speed internet access access; desk; a bathrobe; slippers and a hairdryer. The rooms are divided into Classic; Executive and Junior Suites. Some of the rooms boast a beautiful view. The breakfast room; which was once a 19th Century Ballroom; serves American buffet breakfast and has a view of the River Arno and Via dei Georgofili. There is also a panoramic bar with a terrace and roof garden overlooking the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. This is the perfect place to just sit back and relax. This is a luxury hotel with first class service which begins with a delicious breakfast in the morning. Also available is a private indoor garage including valet service. This is located 300m from the hotel and is available at a charge. Additional Information; Children aged 3 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children aged 4-12 receive a 50pct reduction when sharing with two adults. This applies to the executive room and junior suite only with extra bed and is on request and subject to availability.
