A hidden treasure deep in the Karri Forest ,in the pristine Donnelly Valley.The ideal destination to simply get away from it all. Donnelly River Holiday Village is the best place to spend your vacation as we offer basic but comfortable self catering facilities. The 36 weatherboard cottages which make up the village were originally built for the timber mill workers and their families and for thirty years fulfilled this role. The village has operated as a holiday destination for 25 years. The majority of cottages have 3 sleeping units plus lounge, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. The remainder have 2 sleeping units. While the facilities have been upgraded to incorporate hot water service and electric cookers, the dwellings remain largely unchanged with the wood stove still in the kitchen and the log fire in the lounge. Cutlery, crockery and utensils are provided. To make your holiday all that more relaxing and special, why not stay in one of our 4 Luxury cottages. These Luxury cottages also include a microwave, a refurbished kitchen, and added bedding. Donnelly River is a timber mill town preserved in its entirety, with the mill still standing, all the cottages and the general store.The animals and birds come close to the cottages without the restraint of fences or cages.Your holiday can be active or passive, in the village or getting out, according to your whim of the day.There are conventional towns Manjimup, Nannup and Bridgetown all within 26km.
Attractions: Activities are plentiful in the middle of the Karri forest. Bushwalking is very popular. Go walking on the many tracks off the Bilbbulmun, which links Kalamunda to Walpole and passes through the Donnelly on a loop. The Four Aces is a very popular spot to visit to experience the magnificent Karri trees. Other great scenic spots that shouldn't be missed are One Tree Bridge'Glenoran Pool. Our lake surrounded by forrest is the best place to pass time either swimming or relaxing with freinds or a good book. The play ground and flying fox situated in the middle of the village is fun for young and young at heart.Fauna includes kookaburras which fly to the cottage's verandah rails waiting for food, plus don't miss Birds on Parade where every day at 3pm, see our magpies, Port Lincoln parrots and kookaburras, arrive at the village store - God willing Take time to visiting the near by wineries and taste award winning wines accompanied with delicious local cuisine.
Transportation: How to get to Donnelly River by Road From Perth, choose either the Kwinana Freeway and coast road via Mandurah or the South-West Highway via Pinjarra. Both continue to Bunbury. From Bunbury, take the South-West Highway through Boyanup, Donnybrook and Balingup to Bridgetown. One kilometre from the Bridgetown Post Office, immediately after crossing the traffic bridge over the Blackwood River, take the road to Nannup on the right The Brockman Highway. Three kilometres onwards Mockerdillup Road leads off to the left to Donnelly Village - 24 kilometres. Total travel time from Perth is approximately three and a half hours.From Manjimup, leave the town via Graphite Road and turn right about three kilometres from the town centre along Ralston Road. Watch for the signs to Donnelly Mill, as there are two more right hand turns and one to the left. From Nannup, head towards Bridgetown on the Brockman Highway for 23 kms then turn right at Sears Road and travel another 9 kms to the village.
