Pictures of the Government Palace, Lima. Lima

After a 14 hour flight with a stop in Madrid I finally arrived in Lima, the capital of Peru.

I didn't really know what to expect because it was the first time I visited a South American country and I knew it had to be different from Europe, but in which way was still a big surprise!

The airport of Lima looked amazing and really modern and advanced. I had an amazing...

I have been to Machu Picchu in Peru and travelled around for about a month. I visited several places and saw so many interesting things that it would have been better to stay another two months extra.

The Peruvian people are extremely friendly and hospitable. Their mother language and today also the official language of both Peru as Bolivia, next to Spanish, would be Quecha. Some...

The Train to Machu Picchu Machu Picchu

In 2005 I went to Peru for one month and had to see the famous place of Machu Picchu. To get there from Barcellona I had to take a 14 hour flight with the first stop in Madrid..Fortunately the whole trip was very much worth it!

To get from Cuzco to Aguas Calientes, the last stop up to Machu Picchu, you have to take the train. This isn't one of the economic services and mostly used...

My journey in Peru was an intense experience, something impressive like a mother looking into the eyes of her first born child, realizing was life is all about.

If you want to see Machu Picchu I would recommend getting up early to take the 5.30 am train that will take you up there. You should try the local coca leaves tea if you want a good wake up call:) Getting up this early is...

Fabrics at the market in Pisac Cuzco

Cuzco is the historical capital of Peru and located in the southeathern part of the country. The ancient ruins you'll find in the Cuzco Region are part of the ancient Inca Empire and are World Heritage Listed.

We went to Cuzco for several days and got the chance to visit some of these ancient ruins in the towns of Sacsayhuaman, Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

It might take a while to climb the enormous stairs of the old ruins in Ollantaytambo but once you're at the top it's so worth it! The view is amazing with this ancient valley beneath you.

In Pisa we also visited...
