I visited the city of Muttrah with its amazing Old Muttrah Souk market filled with colourful stands and fresh products for the locals to bargain over. Of course I also made a trip to Muscat, the capital of Oman and famous for its impressive Royal Sultan's Palace. More inland we did several tours and escursions to see the various Wadis, valleys and desert landscapes. But if you think Oman is a magical places during the night, wait till you see it by night! It's amazing to see the beauty of small villages who don't seem to be bothered very much about the boom cities like Dubai, Qatar and Bahrein which aren't that far away, are going through. The people are very humble and welcoming. The best period to visit Oman would be either between February and March or from October to November when the climate is at it's best with enjoyable temperatures and with a bit of luck mild breezes. I would recommend this travel destination to both couples as solo adventure seekers and the best thing to do is to search for accomodation a bit further away from Muscat if you're not to keen on the large tourist resorts and animated events. Also very nice is the turtle spotting excursion which will put you in contact with these enormous and gorgeous creatures! Did you enjoy Muttrah and the capital of Muscat and have you been on a holiday in Muttrah, Oman?
