Kanchanaburi has a lot of things to see and the best way to explore this town is by packing some drinking water and a map and just walk through the different parts of the centre. You will see a lot of historic was sights along Sangchuto Rd like the Japanese cemetery and the monuments dedicated to the fallen soldiers during WWII. Passing the Thawornwararam Cemetary on Thawomitee Rd you will notice a large gate with some clear Chinese influences. These gates lead to the Chinese Temple of Kanchanaburi and to the local schools. Look out for the many stray dogs walking up to you for a bit of attention because some of them might be cute but they don't have the best hygiene.. Walking through the gates you will find the Chinese temple of Wat Thawonwararam with its colourful decorations of red painted birds and fierceless dragons. Surrounding the temple there is also a pagoda which is beautiful at night when it lits up and shines over the waters of the river Kwai. Did you enjoy Chinese Temples in Kanchanaburi and have you been on a holiday in Kanchanaburi, Thailand?
