Driving through Geraldton in WA

Geraldton is a good place to have a look around if you're travelling trough Western Australia because it is one of the bigger towns and a common stop on the Greyhound Bus service route.

You'll find a lot of shops with some of the bigger brands you won't find in the smaller towns. We had to find a camera shop because we had a problem with ours so we were happy to find a Dick Smith store! But also for clothing, souvenirs or other practical stuff this is probably your best shot untill Perth in the south or Broome up north.

Geraldton has a verry happy town centre with mural paintings everywhere and even the billboards are painted by hand. You will see all the store names and other commercial adds painted on the buildings themselfs which was pretty cool to see. I even found my favourite with a huge Beck's commercial. Of course I had to try the real thing aswell and now I can say that beer tastes just fine in Western Australia!

There are many coffee shops and restaurants in Geraldton and we had a great meal at this Italian place close to the beach. If you're more a BBQ person you can use one of the many BBQ's on the beach which are all public and a lot of locals use them on a daily basis. Especially on a sunny day the esplanade is a great place to hang out with the sandy beaches, green lanes and dancing fountains.
