Jaipur is the capital of the state of Rajasthan. It is righteously one of the most popular and admired cities in India. It can be defined as the face of Rajasthan and is a very beautiful city, like all the other cities in Rajasthan. But Jaipur has a unique charm that makes it stand out when compared to other tourist destinations in India. Jaipur was founded in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Today it is one of the most civilized cities in India. It is a part of the golden triangle of India, the other two parts being Agra and Delhi. Jaipur is also called as the Pink City of India. The city is divided into two parts- the old and the new. The most visited spots of Jaipur are- the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, the City Palace Museum, the Hava Mahal, Jal Mahal and the Amber Fort along with Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort. Out of the above tourist spots, the most popular tourist spot is the City Palace. The City Palace is nothing but a complex of regal buildings, temples, courtyards and garden. The construction of this complex was initiated by Maharaja Jai Singh II. The Mubarak Mahal, Mukut Mahal, Maharani’s Palace are some of the most important buildings inside the complex. There are also temples like Shri Govind Dev temple inside the premise. Today, the royal family of Rajasthan still resides in this Palace. The City Palace Museum is also hosted by this Palace.
