Meherangarh Fort All the monuments in Jodhpur are an example of it’s rich tradition and culture. Its a kind of a tradition in Jodhpur, that you cannot proceed to the main course of your meal, without eating something sweet. The Meherangarh fort has a well-stocked museum which holds within it the heritage of the Rathore clan. The museum has the Rathore clan’s costumes, arms, paintings and period rooms. There are several palaces within the fort. Some of these palaces are Moti Mahal, Sheesha Mahal, Phool Mahal and Takhat Vilas. The Moti Mahal is believed to be built for the queens, so that they could listen to court proceedings. The Phool Mahal is the grandest of the period rooms of the fort. The Takhat Vilas was built by Maharaja Takth Vilas, who was the last ruler to have lived in Meherangarh fort.
