Byron Bay was a great stop for us and the relaxing vibe in this seaside town was just what we needed on our roadtrip. We headed to Byron Bay after a short stay in Coffs Harbour. Byron Bay is known for its laid back surfers culture and good range of restaurants and bars. It's the typical seaside town where you'd come to relaxe and fuel up for the rest of your trip. We stayed in a hotel which was pretty central so late at night we could stroll down the restaurants and have a drink in one of the many bars. You'll see a lot of young people having fun and especially in the summer months this is very popular place to party. We had dinner in a tapas bar called The Balcony which is pretty popular in Byron Bay and the food was also really good. We had some calamari tapas, patatas bravas, garlic bread and other tasty bites which all were nice. The Balcony has a wine list and a cocktail bar as well. The caipiroska we ordered was the best I had in a restaurant before! After dinner we wounded up at the Beach Hotel and spend the rest of the night dancing and sipping on drinks. I guess we entered the place aroun 9 pm but it sure felt like after midnight as everybody was dancing at the sounds of the live DJ and we just had to give in:) After a heavy athletic night we returned to our beds.
