I visited the Somaliland Region in the north of Somalia about five years ago but the travel experience I lived during my stay in Somalia is something I never forgot and made a deep impression on me. Somalia is a country which has lived and struggled for a great part of its existence and even today the political situation is far from stable and rebels continue to dominate the streets of Somalia. Hargeisa, the capital city of the Somaliland Region is one of the largest cities of Somalia and located in a valley near the Ethiopia border. The landscape outside the city is arid and very dry. The most important touristic attraction of Hargeisa would be the Laas Geel rock art caves on the outskirts of the city and where ancient cave paintings of cattle held by the former inhabitants of this area can be found. Other things to see in Hargeisa include the civil war monument, the main mosque and the night bazaar in Central Hargeisa. Did you enjoy Pictures of Hargeisa Somaliland and have you been on a holiday in Hargeisa, Somalia?
