The Paro Valley in West Bhutan is located in one of the most amazing landscapes in the world and home to some amazing villages. The Rinpung Dzong Monastery is also located in the Paro Region and overlooks the entire valley. To get to courtyard of the monastery you have to walk accross a wooden bridge which is constructed in between the stone white walls. From the Dzong monastery you can see the building of Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan and a former watchtower up the hill. Paro itself is a beautiful place to visit with its characteristic houses and decorated shops. Walking through the streets of Paro you can see peppers hanging out to dry from the windows and the fluorescent red colours contrast beautifully with the while walls of the houses. We also visited Taktsang and the Taktsang Dzong, an amazing monastery built on the mountain peaks of the Paro Valley also known as the Tiger's Nest. The view from the cliffside is amazing and visiting the Taktsang Monastery is a unique experience! Did you enjoy Tiger's Nest monastery of Taktsang Dzong and have you been on a holiday in Paro, Bhutan?
